The Village Theatre is conveniently located on the MARTA transit like (our rail service). It literally is a 1 minute walk from the King Memorial MARTA station to our theatre.
Additionally, Atlanta is well-served by Lyft and Uber.
What dining options are available?
Atlanta is an awesome food town! We will be providing performers with a list of recommendations and preferred vendors that will be offering discounts throughout the festival weekend.
What local events or attractions are available?
The festival producers are organizing a walking tour of Atlanta for any in town performers. More to come on timing. Explore the city via the popular walking path, the Atlanta Beltline, and see some of the cool neighborhoods in heart of the city.
Everyone will be added to a facebook group for performers to make it easier to schedule day-trips and other excursions to see the city.
Festival Information
How much stage time will performers receive?
Performers will receive at least one, 25 minute set. Every night will provide opportunities for improvisers from all over to jam together.
What is the range of shows and styles the festival is seeking?
The Atlanta Improv Festival accepts any and all improvisational acts of any kind. We want to see all the cool stuff people are doing across the country.
What is the local improv scene like?
Atlanta audiences are used to both long form and short form improv comedy.
What are the festival's goals?
To showcase all the amazing creativity of the improv community, and expose the rest of the country to the great work that the Atlanta scene is doing. We want improvisers to feel like they are a part of a community and leave having made new friends and been inspired by the shows they've seen and workshops they've attended.
What are the selection criteria for this festival?
