Travel Information
What venue(s) will be a part of the festival?
Vermont Comedy Club. It is a 10 minute drive from Burlington International Airport, located at 101 Main Street, Burlington. It's downtown, on the lake, and within walking distance to almost everything you could need. Our theater holds 130 people at cabaret tables and is ADA accessible. Our venue has a full bar and food menu, and during the daytime, it is open as "Happy Place Cafe."
What lodging options are available?
There is an on-site hotel (Hilton Garden Inn, 101 Main Street) and we are working on getting teams a discounted rate. In-town hotels can be pricey, but there are smaller hotels just outside the city limits that aren't too bad. Likewise Air BNBs, etc.
What transportation options are available?
Lyft and Uber are readily available, and we have lots of nice folks here who can give people rides to/from the airport if necessary.
What dining options are available?
We have a full food menu (and bar) at the theater, and performers will likely get some kind of discount. Tons of restaurants nearby as well.
What local events or attractions are available?
There's a phenomenal bike path that stretches out through the islands, a great beach, plus attractions like barcade, Ben & Jerry's factory, trampoline park, movie theaters, and much more.
Festival Information
How much stage time will performers receive?
We are still sorting this out, but likely at least 15 minutes per group.
What is the range of shows and styles the festival is seeking?
Anything and everything. And yes, diversity is important to us.
What is the local improv scene like?
Our scene is growing! Post-pandemic, we kinda had to start all over again, and this new crop has some serious skills. Plus there's some old guard that are awesome performers and great mentors. A very supportive team of excited improvisers who are having a ton of fun together.
What are the festival's goals?
We just want to have fun, meet new people, and learn from one another!
What are the selection criteria for this festival?
Mostly we are looking for a good balance of teams that represent different styles of improv.
What unique improv experiences will performers gain?
You will see and be inspired by some excellent teams! You will socialize with folks from all over, with similar interests! You will explore a cool, progressive little city on a lake! And more!
