About Atlanta Improv Festival 2017

Village Theatre is hosting the third annual Atlanta Improv Festival on May 11-13, 2017 in the city’s historic Old Fourth Ward. The festival boasts the best improv acts in the city as well as top performers from across the nation. The festival will welcome at least 12 out-of- town teams and two headliners. Shows are scheduled for Thursday night through Saturday night in each of our two theatre spaces. During the day, the festival will offer improv and sketch writing workshops for everyone from beginners to advanced performers.

Village Theatre is also proud to announce the second annual Atlanta Improv Festival Tournament Competition. This year’s tournament will include up to 27 teams that will compete for a grand prize of $1,000. Each team will be required to pay a $50 entry fee. The tournament will pit three groups against each other in each show and the audience will rank and award points to each team. The tournament will start two weeks prior to the festival and the remaining 12 teams will perform on Thursday night of the festival. The remaining six teams will perform on Friday night. The final three teams will perform Saturday night on the theatre mainstage for the grand prize.
