About Alaska State Improv Festival 2019
The Alaska State Improv Festival has quickly grown into one of the most desirable "boutique" festivals in North America due to its incredible scenery, hospitality, and quality. AS IF 2019 promises more of the same.
The primary stage of AS IF is McPhetres Hall, a modern facility made with locally-milled cedar right in the heart of Southeast Alaska's rainforest. The second stage, Hangar Ballroom, features AS IF After Dark - our edgier, over 21 offerings - and plays host to two nights of private after-events.
The Alaska State Improv Festival welcomes a wide range of improvisational styles. To learn more about how the festival selects from its submissions, please read The Rubric. http://www.theimprovnetwork.org/the-rubric/
Our goal is to continue to attract amazing improvisors by continuing to exceed your expectations. Please visit our website at asifest.com and/or join our performer-only Facebook group "AS IF - For Improvisors" to learn more about the festival or to contact us with any questions you may have.
INSTRUCTORS - Please note that AS IF directly approaches its master artists and does not consider unsolicited pitches. In addition to the master artist slots, a limited number of workshops are solicited from members of accepted ensembles. For these workshops, the festival provides an honorarium of $100 per instructional hour.
The Alaska State Improv Festival is operated by Morally Improv-erished, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization in good standing based in Juneau, Alaska.
Morally Improv-erished, Inc. is dedicated to the production, performance, and instruction of improvisational theater in its many forms.
