Blad Moreno with more than 20 years of experience in the performing arts space, and being performed in the most important stages in Venezuela, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil and the U.S., He is a former opera singer, sketch writer and improvisational actor/director, He finished his studies in Opera singing in The Simon Bolivar National Conservatory in Venezuela, and performed was the founder and main voice of the Venezuelan Traditional Music bands, “3 y Cuatro” and “Buena Gente”.In 2007 he started to develop his theater skills being part of the prestigious Experimental Theater Workshop School of Acting, Centro TET. He has gotten the International Diploma of Improvisational Theater at El Bosque University in Bogotá, Colombia, being tutor by Omar Argentino Galvan, Debby Low and Sergio Paris with emphasis in clowning and physical theater. He is also graduated from the Second City Conservatory and Music Programs.
Since 2009 he has been performing with the most important Improv shows in Venezuela: ImproMatch, Improchamos (Improv for children), Perdon Ahí Vamos de Nuevo, Maestro, Fractal, Improvisaciones Mínimas and el Show de!.
He created “Fractal” the first Long Form in Venezuela and “La Caimanera”, an improv tournament performed on the streets and co-produced the 1st International Improv Festival in Venezuela in 2011. Blad has been teaching Impro in the most important cultural institutions in Venezuela; Ateneo de Caracas, Centro Cultural Chacao, Centro de Arte La Estancia, Universidad de Los Andes and in most of the major Venezuelan cities, starting improv troupes all over his native country.
He is a creative consultant and facilitator using Improv in business environments to developed "soft skills", working with the workforce of Firestone, Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Telefónica, Bayer, Roche, Takeda, Banco Mercantil, Empresas Polar, Accenture. Applying Improv to other disciplines, Blad was the facilitator of Dr. Kristin Krueger's "Theraprov" program for patients with depression and anxiety in the Hektoen Institute of Medicine in Chicago.
Since 2014, Blad is settle in Chicago and currently teaching his "Impro en Español", "Latin American Style Improv", "Beyond The Language" and "Impropainting" workshops. He performs regularly with the duo "Improñol" with Nelson Velazquez, and with Salsation Theater Company in diverse stages in Chicago including The Second City, Annoyance Theater, iO Theater, the Playground Theater.
With his duo Improñol, Blad is invited regularly to perform and teach on festivals around the U.S. and Latin America, to mention some, Houston TRILL Comedy Festival, Chicago Improv Festival, Twin Cities Improv Festival, Countdown Improv Festival, San Jose Improv Festival, Wasatch Salt Lake City Improv Festival, Grand Rapids Improv Festival, Baltimore Improv Festival, Venezuelan Improv Fest, The International Colombian Improv Season.
