Jeff's Info

Jeff De Leon received bachelors degrees in both Theatre (Acting & Directing) and Communications & Media Arts from Augustana College, where he co-founded the improv/sketch troupe, HeyWire. He studied improvisation with The Second City Conservatory, i.O. Theater, Annoyance Theater, The Playground, and Wirth Creative in Chicago, and ComedySportz in the Quad Cities.



Jeff is a founding member of the acclaimed national improv touring company, G.I.T. Improv; in his 26th year with ComedySportz - formerly with Quad Cities, and now with Boston; and co-creator of the sketch comedy troupe, Comedy Thingy. He has performed at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Detroit Improv Festival, Twin Cities Improv Festival, Phoenix Improv Festival, Traverse City Comedy Arts Fest, Omaha Improv Festival, DuoFest, Improv Festivus, Chicago SketchFest, Green Gravel Comedy Festival, Big Des Moines Improv Festival, C-U Improv Festival, Eau Claire Improv Festival, So ILL Comedy Festival, headlined the 2012-2014 Compass Improv Festivals in St. Louis, has played in numerous ComedySportz World Championships, and opened for the Upright Citizens Brigade Touring Company. He also performs with Wisenheimer, Tandem, 309, Full Disclosure, Paddy Murphy is Dead, Movie: The Musical, proXy, Critical Hit, Shakespeared, Nocturne Falls, R+D, and True Story. He has been a guest performer with The Hot Karl, Chicago Improv Productions, ComedyCity, Tantrum, Jay & Jonathan, The NC-17 Show, Midnight Blue, and at numerous ComedySportz cities. In addition, he is a multi-time Improv Comedy DeathMatch 3000 champion with his squad, The Bastard Children of Jim Varney. Jeff is also a co-host of Wisenheimer: The Podcast, All You Care To Eat: A Comedy Thingy Podcast, and SNAP! A Marvel Cinematic Universe Podcast Miniseries.

Jeff is a CIE-E certified improv instructor with ComedySportz and has taught workshops and classes for University of Dubuque, Western Illinois University, University of Iowa, Quad City Metro Arts, Iowa Thespian Festival, ETA Thespian Festival (Nebraska), CSz Quad Cities Training Center, Davenport Junior Theatre, and has coached both the CSz Quad Cities Minor League and High School Leagues.
