Lindsey McGowen is the award-winning Director of Operations at Wayward Improvised Theatre in Ottawa, ON and the former Director of Production Design and Master Electrician at the Hideout Theatre in Austin, TX where she designed, performed or directed over 30 shows.She designs and directs for both scripted and unscripted shows, as well as teaches dramaturgy for improvisors and technical improvisation to rave reviews from students around the world: Hideout Theater - Austin, USA | The Improv Company – Singapore | Theater Momentum – Chicago, USA | Open Heart Theatre – Newcastle, UK | The Nursery Theater – London, UK | ImproAmsterdam - Amsterdam, NL
Lindsey has a Bachelor of Arts in Technical Theater from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, USA and has been nominated for multiple awards for her technical design work. In 2017, she (and her crewmates) won the inaugural Outstanding Improvised Technical Design for How I Saved the World Over Summer Vacation at the Hideout, in addition to being nominated for three other shows that same year in the same category. She was also nominated for Outstanding Lighting Design for American Berserk Theater's Killer Girls in 2018.
She also appeared on the tv show Jeopardy! in 2013.
