Erica Clermont is originally from British Columbia, Canada where she has a BA in Theater and Film from the University of British Columbia. Erica has been involved in theater and improv since a very young child and is absolutely passionate about improv and the wonderful art form that it is. Erica also has a MA in Organizational Leadership, where she used improv as a tool to help improve culture and increase trust within organizations. She has studied improv for the last 10 years and has taught in San Diego for the last seven, mostly at Finest City Improv, but has now joined the teaching staff and cast at Mockingbird Improv as well. She is experienced in corporate training, teaching large groups and one on one coaching. Erica is an experienced teacher and coach, and has taken improv classes from instructors from around the world. She coaches three local indie teams as well as being a multi level teacher. She has attended Camp Improv Utopia for multiple years and has done intensives in the Vertical Harold and Harold with Karen Graci, as well as attending the HUGE summer intensive in Minneapolis with Jill Bernard. Some instructors she has gained knowledge and insight from are Carla Cackowski, Bill Hill, Bob Dassie, Jaime Moyer, Craig Cackowski, Nick Armstrong, Ithamar Enriquez, Jason Pardo, Brian O’Connell, Amey Goerlich, and Ptolemy Slocum. Erica has a hands on approach with coaching and teaching and her main focus is making her players better improvisers through great intentional lessons, encouragement, and personal player challenges.

Erica teaches workshops on listening, discovery, being weird and having more fun, but also gears workshops towards the people that are taking them and what they want to learn.
