Jessie Morton is a Chicago-based improviser and teacher, passionate about the artform and the community it supports. She is experienced in corporate training (ComedySportz), teaching large groups (Roial Players at MSU), and with seniors, adults and teens with cancer (Gilda’s Club of Metro Detroit).She has performed at the Detroit Improv Festival, Del Close Marathon, Improv Fest Ireland, San Diego Improv Festival, Chicago Improv Festival with her indie teams Baby Teeth and Sandwich. Currently, she is performing regularly with One Group Mind on Saturdays at The Comedy Clubhouse, and occasionally as 50% of Ben & Jessie. Jessie is an experienced teacher and coach, and has taken improv classes from instructors from around the world.
She completed training at Go! Comedy (Ferndale, MI), Planet Ant (Hamtramck, MI), ImprovUtopia (East, West, Yosemite), Impatient Theatre (Toronto, ON), Under the Gun (Chicago, IL), 500 Clown (Chicago, IL), The Clubhouse at Stage 773 (Chicago, IL), iO Chicago (Chicago, IL), UCB (New York, NY), Second City Conservatory (Chicago, IL), The Annoyance (Chicago, IL), One Group Mind (Chicago, IL). Some instructors she has gained knowledge and insight from are Mike Abdelsayed, Nick Armstrong, Jill Bernard, Craig Cackowski, Jaime Moyer, Paul Vaillancourt and Susan Messing. Jessie has a hands-on approach with coaching and teaching, and her main focus is making her players better improvisers through great intentional lessons, encouragement, and personal player challenges.
