Mike holds an MFA (Acting) from the University of Idaho and a BFA (Theater Arts) from the University of Nebraska (Kearney) and has over 30 years of improvisational theater experience.
As a Co-Founder of Jet City Improv he has been involved in the educational endeavors of the company since its beginning in 1992.

He conceived and created the Improv Dojo, a weekly drop-in improv training session at Jet City Improv now in its 14th year.

He was one of the first JCI instructors to begin serving homeless youth at the Sanctuary Arts Center and has been continually involved in teaching improv there for 15 years. He was also among the first JCI instructors to go into the King County Juvenile Detention Center to lead workshops for youth incarcerated there and is still active in that long-running program.

He has also performed improv residencies at Roosevelt High School, Aki Kurose, Hamilton Middle School Denny Middle School as well as individual improv workshop sessions for dozens of high schools, religious organizations, summer camps and private groups.
Mike has led workshops for Point B, Microsoft, Amazon, Indeed.com and many more.

For Jet City Improv Mike has taught Advanced Short Form, Improv 101, 102, 103, 201 and numerous specialty workshops.

At Seattle Central College, Mike taught Public Speaking and Acting for the Non-Actor. He also taught Public Speaking at the University of Idaho while earning his MFA.
At Lewis and Clark State College in Idaho he taught Small Group Communication. While attending University of Nebraska (Kearney) Mike taught Introduction to Theater and Public Speaking.
