Justin Parlette (he/they) is a comedic actor, writer, director, producer, and nap enthusiast. Justin is a graduate of The University of Kansas (political science), The Second City Conservatory, iO, The Annoyance, and has studied with Anne Libera, Anthony Leblanc, Asher Perlman, Bob Fisher, Craig Uhlir, Jimmy Carrane, Kevin McDonald, Michael McCarthy, Mick Napier, Mike Gifford, Noah Gregoropoulos, Norm Holly, Peter Grosz, Rachael Mason, Rich Talarico, Ryan Asher, Scott Adsit, Seth Thomas, and Susan Messing.

Justin’s credits include the iO House Team Birdlady, hosting movie parties for the Alamo Drafthouse, creating and producing Secret Origins: An Improvised Superhero Event in Chicago and New York, Go See A Star War at iO, Dork Court at Otherworld Theater, The Primary: an improvised Election in Chicago and Kansas City with Cards Against Humanity, the indie teams The Church of Bonotology, Doogin + Justin, Uncle Bobo, The Bearded DeVitos, and Old Town Funk.

He is also regularly heard as a podcast contributor. He provides corporate improv training for investment bankers and less-corporate improv training for high school and college students in Illinois, Missouri, and Kansas. He’s been in several pilots that have yet to be picked up, and had one of his sketch videos shared by three Avengers and Luke Skywalker on Twitter.

Justin co-created the critically acclaimed and audience-ignored web series DEAD WAIT, has spoken about crowdfunding web series at SDCC, and once came very close to accidentally killing Stan Lee (RIP) at a party in 2010.

Justin’s improv teachings lean heavily on truth in character and remaining grounded amongst absurdity, utilizing a character method he co-developed called “The Seventy.”
