Kaisa Kokko is an improviser, director, teacher and communication skills instructor from Finland. Kaisa has studied improvisation (iO Chicago, Unexpected Productions Seattle), music, special education, communication skills, various forms of dancing and musical instruments and has Masters in Education. She has been improvising for more than a decade and has taught impro and applied impro to various groups and levels in several countries including Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Poland, The Netherlands, Ireland, Costa Rica, Peru and United States.Kaisa has performed with her theater company Improvisaatioteatteri JOO! for more than twelve years and toured around the world performing and teaching. She also tours with her musical duo Kaisa & Julia. Kaisa is the co-founder and co-artistic director of a famous Finnish improv comedy clud Mikäklubi and a versatile improvisational theater KujeImpro. She is one of the founders of the first Finnish Improv training center, ImproKampus and teaches there regularly.
Both in performing and teaching, and also outside the impro world Kaisa values deep meaningful connections, sturdy relationships, invested listening and emotional availability. Kaisa travels the world teaching, performing and learning new things on the way – thus having the wonderful opportunity to do what she loves. During the last year Kaisa has taught and/or performed at the International Festival of Improvisation in Seattle United States, Tilt Festival in Estonia, Würzburger in Germany, Improv Fest Ireland, Swimp Festival in Sweden, ImproWasation in Finland and Phoenix Improv Festival in United States. During the summer of 2017 she will attend at least Turku Impro Festival in Finland, The Ocean State Improv Festival and Seattle Festival in the United States.
