About Required Taste

Required Taste is a group of seven friends with undeniable chemistry and a rampant love of word play, patterns and that oh-so-scrumptious place where absurdity meets reality. They turn a one-word suggestion into a series of delightful games and grounded scenes, weaving them into a narrative that pushes the boundaries of the surreal and ultimately lands in a place of elegant solution. Watch them explore the contrasts of the obscure and the mundane, quick blaze and slow burn, novelty and deja vu. Warning: there may be puns ahead.

Required Taste originated as Leela’s Performing Improv Ensemble YUM!, which has been performing in the San Francisco Bay Area since January 2014. They've appeared at festivals such as the San Diego Improv Festival, Wasatch Improv Festival, SF Sketchfest, the Hollywood Improv Festival, and the Antelope Valley Improv Comedy Festival.
