About Kate and Casey

Kate Teichman
founding member of Wage House

Kate has performed and taught improv comedy and theater for 15 years. An Ohio native, she received her B.F.A. in Theater Performance from Ohio University, and began performing improv with other students who also didn’t have plans on a Saturday night. After graduating she moved to Chicago where she studied improv at iO Chicago (formerly ImprovOlympic) and became an ensemble member of The Curious Theater Branch, a company dedicated to creating and supporting new plays. She also created curriculum, taught, and directed for Mudlark Theater, a company invested in elevating children’s work to a professional level. In Chicago, Kate had the opportunity to perform in many new works, direct a production of The Maids, and help create the improv team You Get Punched in her Chicago neighborhood. Since moving to Rhode Island, Kate has performed in many groups including Improv Jones, Summer Camp, Kickasaurus Rex, Gray’s Halpman, Diner Report, and more. Kate writes and performs regularly with the Empire Revue, a sketch comedy variety show. Kate works as an improv instructor in and around Providence with both adults and little folks. She’s got a trick ankle so she usually wears gym shoes.
