About Sea Tea Improv

Sea Tea Improv is Hartford, CT's professional improv comedy company. The group performs four monthly public shows, as well as many for-hire private events, and has been trained by the best comedy schools in the country. Sea Tea Improv teaches comedy classes and hosts improv community events at the Sea Tea Improv Studios in Downtown Hartford. They've performed all over Connecticut and New England, and in festivals around the US.

Sea Tea Improv has been leading CT's improv comedy scene since 2009. They have twice won the CT Comedy Cage Match with a Monoscene, and were 3x winners of the UCB NY Indie Cage Match, earning a spot in the mainstage Cage Match. The group created their own improvised espiode of Sex and the City called "Sex and the Sea Tea."

The group hosts a monthly Longform Comedy Showcase, a mini-festival in which audiences see Sea Tea Improv & guest groups perform various longform styles. The annual Hartford Improv Festival is run and presented by Sea Tea Improv Sea Tea Improv performs monthly on E-MPROV.com with members from all over the US, and packs the house monthly at their free shortform show at City Steam Brewery's Brew Ha Ha Comedy Club that has run for over 60 straight months.

In 2015, Sea Tea Improv announced their own comedy theater that will be opening in Downtown Hartford.
