About ActionBEAR!

ActionBEAR! Improvised Comedy from Colorado Springs, CO is a labor of love for Jessica Schleiger and Derek Knight, attention whores by trade, who have been performing as a duo for over 4 years. ActionBEAR! is proud to have been an official selection of the 2015 Idaho Laugh Fest, the 2015 Colorado Improv Festival and the 2015 & 2016 Antelope Valley (CA) Improv Comedy Festival. As a duo, Jess and Derek have had the good fortune to learn from amazing teachers such as Mark Beltzman, Jimmy Carrane, Armando Diaz, David Razowsky, Susan Messing, Rachael Mason, Kerstin Caldwell, Matt Need, Sam Gordon and more. They perform as much as possible at the Voodoo Comedy Playhouse in Denver and will travel pretty much anywhere to make people laugh.



In case you were wondering (you were) the name "ActionBEAR!" was selected from a list of "alternate names for ewoks" created during a scoring break at a pub quiz. "ActionBEAR!" is fun to say (try it! say it seven times, you won't be disappointed) and ActionBEAR! is even more fun to watch. Jess loves long form more than cake and Derek respects short form more than himself, which led to melding the two into one fearlessly fluid form. The Duo's favorite blend is to present a monoscene peppered with lines written by the audience and drawn at random.



Jess and Derek also perform regularly in a murder mystery dinner show, have resurrected a weekly-ish podcast and host weekly pub quiz nights at bars in Colorado Springs. Oh, and cocktails, they really REALLY like cocktails.
