The Tune Up: 2 Person Scenework Diagnostic
After an improviser learns the basics and plays in a few shows, they run the risk of getting locked into habits and patterns that keep them from really upping their game and breaking into the next phase of growth as a performer. Through a series of "gauntlets" we blast through raw scenes without worrying about form, content or style. As you play I compile a list of emerging issues that we work on for the remainder of the workshop. Giving you certain objectives for each run and side coaching your scenes along the way, you'll learn how to break habits and adopt new ones, oiling up your creative mind to breathe the life and fun back into your scenework. You'll learn how to get out of your head by taking mental aim at something as you enter the stage. Before we finish, each performer gets a chance to get some supportive feedback from their peers who watch a few scenes and reveal audience perceptions of how they play. This workshop is for players with long from training and some stage experience.
