The Band Without the Band - Advanced Improv Music

If a two-person scene is a duet, imagine what they could do with the whole ensemble backing their characters. If lines are melody, imagine the expressive scale when you add rhythm, harmony and group energy. If you are the soloist, imagine the warm band support for every move you make. Imagine a band forming out of thin air! Your improv troupe can make that happen, even without a musician. In this workshop we focus on musically supporting the characters and the scene. We learn how to amplify or underline the emotions, the characters and the painted scene using only our own bodies and the voices we can produce. We work on producing and harmonizing patterns, making body percussions, sound effects and how to own the stage with the raw impact of emotions. No musical background is needed.
