"Do something funny!" Have you ever had someone tell you that when you inform them that you are an improviser? Have you ever found yourself telling your own self to be funny while on stage? If so.... then THIS is the workshop for you. We tend to think of improv as a comedic enterprise and easily trick ourselves into thinking that we MUST be funny. That is not true! The greatest comedy comes from honesty and truth. Here you will learn how to connect yourself to the scene and your character. Taking an introspective look at yourself, you will be guided on how to add years of complexity and emotional connection to the make-believe you create, and will learn tips on how to heighten the stakes (and, as a result, the comedy) of your scene. This workshop will help weed out the mentality of having to be funny in a scene, and replace it with the healthier of mentality of just having fun. You will learn how to perform without actually performing. You will learn how to just BE.
