Release The Id: Clowning for the Improviser
Clown is the impulsive, physical and emotional cousin to Improv. Get out of your head...and into your clown! Inside you sits your id. It’s your impulse, your drive, your needs, wants, and desires. The id is the heart of clowning, and the principles of clowning mirror improvisation. The judgmental mind stifles the id. We get “into our heads.” We slip into ego and our improv suffers. The study of clown liberates the improviser by stripping away the judgmental mind to allow the id to run free. In this workshop, you will tackle the ego and release the id through physicality, emotional focus, and simplicity.
