Improvise Like a Jedi

Did you know that the philosophy of Star Wars is strikingly similar to the philosophy of improv? “Feel, don’t think. Use your instincts.” “Do or do not, there is no try.” “Clear your mind of questions.” This isn’t just great advice for using the Force, but great advice for the stage as well! In this three-hour intermediate workshop, participants will engage with the metaphysical side of performance, explore the philosophy of the Jedi, and learn how to play Star Wars themed improv games. Special emphasis will be placed on being present, responding kinesthetically, and trusting the moment. This workshop is 100% thematic; every activity will directly address the galaxy far, far away. Participants are encouraged to bring their own lightsabers, and dress in your favorite Star Wars paraphernalia!
