Play in Silence, Play in Voice
There you are onstage with your scene partner wondering “what is X?” “what is Y?” “WHAT THE FLIP IS Z?!!!” We ask so many “whats” in improv without realizing the question that is often overlooked is HOW. Answering HOW will knock down the dominoes of whats. HOW is the spice of improv. and really letting yourself be free in answering that question can unlock a new arena of play for anyone still getting stuck on the whats. In “Play In Silence, Play in Voice,” Christina invites you to fully inhabit your body and voice onstage. In our everyday lives we walk and talk in the same ways and patterns because it’s familiar, it’s comfortable. We identify these habitual movements and voices as part of who we are, yet the capabilities of our bodies (and voices) are so vast and underutilized. Let Christina be your guide as you explore your world with new eyes of your own making!
