"The Compass Points North" or Theatrical Blocking in Improv
Two improvisers stand on stage. Three feet apart, maybe cheating out to the audience, saying clever, funny lines back and forth to each other. If this sounds like a scene you find yourself in regularly (or regularly coaching) and you can't figure out why this scene is becoming a slog, then this workshop is for you. Using concepts well developed and long established from "traditional" theater, participants will learn impulse, intention, movement, and the power of purposed motion and stillness. These strategies can work instantly to add significantly to your own craft already in practice, making your scenes more fun, dynamic, thrilling, and - theatrical.
