Harold Prep

Harold is the approach and philosophy of longform improvisation pioneered by Del Close. This workshop is an introduction to the ideas of Harold and the skills needed to play & explore through Harold. People often think of Harold as a static structure but even when performed as a rigid format, there's plenty of room for freedom in your choices, boundless play, and surprising yourself & your fellow players. Harold is a rigorous exploration of characters, relationships, & their worlds via bold choices & non-linear storytelling. There are no narrative arcs to follow because with Harold, we're creating entirely new narrative arcs that might not even look like arcs!
