Pam's Info

Pam Victor is a professional improviser, teacher, author, and nice person living in Western Massachusetts. Along with TJ Jagodowski and David Pasquesi, she is the co-author of "Improvisation at the Speed of Life: The TJ & Dave Book." After living and writing in TJ & Dave's brains for the two year long gestation of the book, Pam developed The Zen of Improv, a multi-level improv curriculum focusing on patient, longform improvisation. Beyond Western Mass, she teaches Zen of Improv workshops (also known as The Next Little Step Approach) as two- and three-hour workshops as well as a delicious day-long, six-hour intensive. She also teaches The Buckingham, a short-longform (aka "shlongform") structure she created, which is well suited to teams wanting to bridge the gap between the two styles.

Pam writes the blog interview series “Geeking Out with…” in which she gets down deep, dirty, and improvluscious with a cavalcade of improvisation’s biggest brains and talents as well as "The Zen of Improv," a series about the place where improv and Zen thinking meet. Both can be found on her blog, My Nephew is a Poodle. Pam is the founding member of The Ha-Ha’s, and she produces The Happier Valley Comedy Shows in Western Massachusetts. "Pam is one of the most sensitive and intuitive instructors I've ever worked with. Next Little Step not only re-framed the way I understand organic game, but sparked the development of Flashform improv. The concepts of Heat, Weight, and heart now make up the core of everything I do on stage and everything I teach about being on stage." - Nicholas Riggs, Director of Operations, Post Dinner Conversation Inc & Executive Producer, Tampa Improv Festival

"The Buckingham, is a great way to take all the wonderful aspects from shortform improv and to couch them in a fun and fast paced longform format. The Buckingham really allows the audience and cast to stay fully engaged throughout the show by using character monologues, grounded scenes, and shortform gameplay, all in a narrative structure. It's been a fantastic show format and tool for us to build and showcase our skills in both shortform and longform, and the best part? It's a helluva fun format!" - David Suarez, Just the Funny Theater (Miami)

"The best improv workshop I’ve ever been to." - Stephen Buckley
